Leadership Reflections from GITEX Global 2024: A Vision for AI-Driven Transformation

Following an impactful week at GITEX Global 2024, Arian Shahmar, CEO of SENSOLIST and founding leader at VEGA TEK HUB, shared his perspective on the event — and in particular, a pivotal exchange with His Excellency Omar Sultan AlOlama, the UAE’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence.

“It was truly an honor to meet His Excellency and hear firsthand about the UAE’s forward-thinking digital vision,” Shahmar noted. “His role—as likely the only Minister of AI in the world—embodies a national commitment to deeply integrating artificial intelligence across society, economy, and governance.”

Shahmar described the meeting as both inspiring and strategically enlightening, praising the UAE’s mission to operationalize AI not just as a technology — but as a pillar of national development. From education and healthcare to logistics, manufacturing, and public services, the roadmap presented by His Excellency's office demonstrated how visionary leadership can turn digital ambition into real-world transformation.

“What impressed me most was the clarity of purpose,” Shahmar said. “This is not just about deploying technology — it’s about shaping an AI-first society. That kind of leadership is bold, aligned, and exactly what the world needs.”
